New American Dental Association President

The American Dental Association (ADA) installed the 148th president of the oral health advocacy group.  Dr. William R. Calnon, a general dentist from New York, was installed during proceedings of the House of Delegates for 2011.  This marks the 152nd ADA Annual Session which was in Las Vegas.

Dr. Calnon says he is honored to stand before his fellow dentists as the new president of the ADA.  He pledges to focus on the ADA’s mission to foster the diverse growth of membership while advancing oral health education for the public.  Dr. Calnon’s peers believe he has an unparalleled understanding of how the ADA works.  His expertise will prove to be a valuable asset to the group.

Before becoming the president of the ADA, Dr. Calnon served for 4 years as trustee for the 2nd district in New York and was previously a member of the ADA Council on Dental Practice.  He is also the past president of the New York State Dental Association, the 7th (NY) District Dental Society and the Monroe County Dental Society.  He has an understanding of all realms of dentistry, including cosmetic and sedation dentistry.
